Backed by our 60-year engineering experience, Keppel LeTourneau has responded to the offshore renewable energy industry’s needs by offering Multi-Purpose Self-Elevating Vessel designs. Check out how our 4000 Series Feeder Vessel provides support for the installation of a 12 MW wind turbine!
Who We Are
Since LeTourneau launched the world’s first independent leg offshore jackup rig, The Scorpion, in 1955, we have demonstrated our commitment to designing rigs that stand the test of time. Today, Keppel LeTourneau continues to meet our customers’ needs with the best systems, products and aftermarket services.
Anti-Two-Block
Looking to prevent crane incidents and dropped loads due to two-block collisions? Check out our newly improved Anti-Two-Block (A2B) system with versatile sensors and a dual-chain suspension system. Besides allowing for easy installation, our A2B requires minimal maintenance and can even be visually inspected without disassembly.
Building A Legend
In the early 1950s, offshore drilling was largely limited to fixed platforms and there were few mobile platforms operating. Against all odds, Mr R G LeTourneau overcame the challenges in the oil and gas industry to build the world’s first jackup rig, Scorpion, in 1955. The mobile, self-elevating offshore drilling platform was delivered to Zapata Offshore Company of Houston, which was headed by future United States President, George H W Bush.
Rig Kits
We license our rig designs to customers through the sale of rig kits, comprising critical components, jackup leg structures, elevating systems, skidding systems, hold downs/push ups and optional pedestal deck cranes. Since 1958, we have sold over 80 rig kits.
