LeTourneau™ Pedestal Cranes
Keppel LeTourneau’s eco-friendly Electric Drive cranes are not just energy efficient, but they also maximize uptime, resulting in greater life-cycle cost savings for the operator. Today, around 25% of the global jackup fleet has LeTOURNEAU™ cranes installed.
Full electric drives eliminate the need for high pressure hydraulic fluid, which in turn reduces the risk of accidental leakage and environmental discharge. |
Our Electric Drive Cranes recapture electricity that is generated from boom/hook down operations and re-distributes it to different parts of the crane or rig, thereby achieving a higher level of energy and cost efficiency. Electric drives also greatly reduce energy losses associated with traditional Diesel-Hydraulic Systems. |

The AC Drive system have been designed with modular “pull-out” cabinets and trays, to allow for easy access of components. The self-testing plug and play units allow for significant reductions in maintenance down time. The use of identical components, for motors and brakes, allows for interchangeability of parts and reduces footprint. |

Improved Safety |
We offer a range of different upgrade packages to improve the safety and efficiency of our current models, and upgrade packages to our legacy cranes:
 1. Hawkeye™ Crane CabCab location offers crane operators enhanced visibility and the ergonomically located controls allows for more efficient operating and monitoring. |
 2. Secondary BrakeWith the ability to manage loads at the drum, independent of the motor, and to lower hook and boom in a power loss scenario, our secondary brake unit increases the safety of personnel lifting operations. |
 3. Boom LimitsThis upgrade package, with redundant sensors and targets, allows for the monitoring and control of boom machine-limits and customer-defined safety limits (minimum lower and maximum raise) |
 4. Anti-Two-Block (A2B)The dual chain suspension system ensures that our patented A2B assembly is highly resistant to spinning and prevents wire rope drag. Wide stabilizing arms also counter high winds, pitch and roll motions, reducing the risk of dropped loads and crane incidents. |
