History

History

LeTourneau was founded by R.G. LeTourneau and incorporated as R.G. LeTourneau, Inc. in 1929 in California. The products were manufactured in Vicksburg, Mississippi and Longview, Texas. In 1955, we delivered the “Scorpion”, our No. 1 hull which started the boom to drilling in deeper waters and is recognized as the father of the modern day jackup drilling platforms. In other product lines, we are the innovator of the road scraper, the electric wheel drive bucket loader, the first log-stacker machine and the intermodal container crane.

The LeTOURNEAU™ suite of jackup rig designs are established designs that are popular with different markets and have a proven track record of operating in a variety of environments.
